The Sharing Exchange (SHEX) is a repository and sharing system for the education sector that enables digital resources to be shared and used in classrooms. Using SHEX, educational jurisdictions are able to:
- upload digital resources and metadata to share with other jurisdictions
- download resources and metadata to distribute to teachers and students
- automate and synchronise downloads to control what they wish to download and share.
The digital resources in SHEX can be viewed according to licence. Jurisdictions can supply their own licence appropriate to the intentions and restrictions around the resources to be shared, as well as configure the web service settings to determine the resources they would like their schools to view.
