Educational value

Digital resources must be relevant to the content and achievement outcomes identified in the Australian Curriculum to ensure teachers and students will use it.

Educational value and integrity describes the resource's capacity to successfully promote learning and development within a set of criteria:

  • a valuable resource focuses on the learning needs of its audience
  • resources must fit the Australian Curriculum
  • the resource is reputable, authentic and verifiable, and the content is current and accurate.

Things to consider when planning the educational value of the digital resource include:

  • what learners will achieve by using the resource
  • whether the objectives are relevant to a specific Australian Curriculum or pedagogical framework
  • how assessment can be embedded in the learning design.
